Meet Ricki! She’s a 7 1/2 year old German Shepherd/Siberian Husky mix who came to our shelter when her previous owners could no longer care for her. Ricki was very shy and scared when she first arrived at the shelter, but with a little patience and TLC she has started to come out of her shell and show what a sweet girl she really is. Ricki is looking for a quieter home with no children under the age of 14, because she can be startled quite easily. She wants a family that will let her curl up with them in the evening for some belly rubs, Ricki absolutely loves to cuddle. Ricki has really enjoyed going out on walks with our volunteers as well, and would love a companion that would spend a lot of time with her. If you have any dogs that Ricki may be living with, please bring them in for a visit so she can make friends right away. We also ask that Ricki go to a home with a 6 foot wood fenced yard to keep her safe, because sometimes she likes to go exploring but she doesn’t want to get lost. Do you think you have room in your heart for this special girl? She’s not on our adoption floor, so e-mail ksanborn@southwesthumane.org and schedule an appointment to meet her!

Meet Sarsgard! He’s a 4 year old German Shepherd mix who came to our shelter in search of his forever home. Sarsgard is an active dog, both in physically and mentally, and is looking for a forever home that can teach him how to focus his energy. He’s always ready to play so he’s looking for a companion who will get out and play fetch with him! A home with a fenced yard is necessary for Sarsgard to keep him safe, and he would do best in a home with no children under the age of 14. If you have any older children or other dogs that Sarsgard might be living with, then please bring them in for a visit! Do you think you have the perfect home for Sarsgard? Ask the staff how you can adopt him today!
