As part of our Unexpected Portrait Project, we worked with a local family who really enjoys skateboarding. It seemed like a no-brainer to have them pack up the fam, head over to one very cool skate park and set up the gear. Absolutely the coolest family ever–photographed their baby months back and it was such a thrill to see the whole clan (in matching super hero outfits, no less!). Bea-U-ti-ful children…a crime, really.

I’ve tried to do the white thing in many areas of my life, but RED keeps poppping up.

Maybe because it’s the color of passion…love…fire trucks…licorice…a ripe tomato…

We had sessions at Sniff last week and we met some lovely, wonderful canine pals…all, btw, were perfect on my new white backdrop system.

ALL of these lovelies. They walked in the door of the studio and I knew it was going to be a long session because it’s just plain hard to let “model-esque” people go after an hour

I’ve been doing a lot of vintagey-washes in post production. I love how soft and sweet it is. We have an artist making rustic shabby-i-fied frames for these kinds of portraits.
